Paleo Crockpot Hawaiian Holiday Chicken

As a mom of a two under two (16 months apart), I can assure you nothing is sweeter than a meal everyone loves gathering around. It’s the absolute worst when I am ready to turn in for the night and we’re sitting at the table and my toddler takes one look at his food and is running in the other direction. My toddler is one of those kids who likes to lick the sauce off everything and leave the actual “food” behind. This is just one of those meals that is made perfect for him because it is smothered in BBQ sauce so he is left to eat every last bite! It’s always nice when a mom can win, right? Not only is this a tasty recipe for a 2 year old, for as simple as the ingredients are, the effortless combination is absolutely irresistible! And of course, another score for this recipe is that you can just throw it in the crockpot to do the cooking for you!


We’ve all seen these Hawaiian Chicken recipes on Pinterest but you won’t find one that’s just a few ingredients that’s also Paleo approved. Although it isn’t labeled as “Hawaiian” I found a delicious Peach BBQ sauce that works immensely in this dish! With an added bonus of the cranberries you are can make this typical “summertime” dish into a winter delight for the whole family!


What you’ll need:

1 (16oz) bag of frozen pineapple

1 (12oz) bag of cranberries


1.5-2 lbs of boneless skinless chicken or turkey breast

1 bottle of Peach BBQ Sauce by PALEOCHEF

1 bag of riced cauliflower (optional)

1 cup of fresh spinach (optional)

How to cook:

  1. Place chicken/turkey in bottom of crockpot
  2. Add in the cranberries, pineapple and then stir in the sauce.
  3. Cook on low for 5-6 hours or high 3-4 hours


  1. Take a fork and pull apart the meat.
  2. Serve over cauliflower rice or side of choice!
  3. For the Cauliflower Rice:


I like to just buy a bag of ready-to-cook riced cauliflower at Trader Joe’s. It ends up costing about the same and ends up saving a couple steps and clean ups so highly recommend it! All I do is pour the cauliflower in a large skillet over med-high heat and stir occasionally with coconut oil until it starts to turn brown.


-You want the cauliflower to be slightly brown it enhances a bold yummy flavor!

-I added in spinach for flavor. I also like to add in things like parsley, onions, chives, etc! Be creative it’s fun!
